These Terms of Service govern your use of The Home Phone, a managed home phone service for households operated by The Home Phone LLC, a Texas limited liability company. By creating an account, using the app, connecting an adapter, placing or receiving calls, or managing a subscription, you agree to these terms.
Account Owner Responsibility
The account owner is responsible for the household account, subscription, managed lines, devices, approved contacts, calling settings, and anyone who uses the service through the account. You agree to provide accurate account and billing information and to keep login credentials secure.
Service Description
The Home Phone provides managed calling features for household use, including app-managed lines, trusted contacts, adapter provisioning, voicemail, quiet hours, wake-up calls, and related support workflows. Calls are placed through supported hardware and telecommunications providers. Features may change as the product develops.
Hardware And Network Requirements
The service requires compatible hardware, power, internet access, and a functioning home network. You are responsible for purchasing, installing, powering, and maintaining your phone, adapter, router, internet service, and any other equipment not expressly provided by The Home Phone.
Approved Use
You may use The Home Phone for lawful household calling only. You may not use the service for fraud, harassment, abuse, emergency hoaxes, unsolicited calling, reselling, high-volume automated traffic, attempts to bypass calling controls, or activity that interferes with the service or telecommunications networks.
Emergency Calling
The Home Phone is not a replacement for a primary emergency telephone service. Emergency calling may be unavailable, limited, delayed, or inaccurate because the service depends on internet access, power, supported hardware, configuration, third-party providers, and account status. Keep another reliable way to contact emergency services.
Subscriptions And Billing
Paid service is billed through Stripe-hosted checkout and customer portal flows. Prices, billing intervals, renewal terms, and cancellation options are shown at checkout or in the billing portal. Unless otherwise stated, subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. If payment fails or a subscription ends, paid features may be limited or disabled.
Cancellations And Refunds
You may cancel your subscription through the app, the Stripe customer portal, or by contacting support. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current billing period unless a different option is shown at cancellation. Fees already paid are generally non-refundable except where required by law or expressly approved by support.
Phone Numbers And Service Changes
Phone numbers, calling routes, telecommunications providers, and related service features may be assigned, changed, suspended, reclaimed, or discontinued when required for operations, compliance, account status, provider availability, or abuse prevention. We will try to avoid unnecessary disruption, but phone service can depend on third parties.
Privacy
The Home Phone collects and uses information as described in the Privacy Policy. By using the service, you also agree to that policy.
Suspension Or Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the service if an account violates these terms, creates risk for users or providers, fails to pay, causes operational harm, or must be limited for legal, regulatory, security, or abuse-prevention reasons.
Disclaimers
The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, perfect call quality, compatibility with every device or network, or availability of every feature in every location. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation Of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Home Phone LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data, service interruptions, failed calls, or telecommunications provider outages. Our total liability for claims relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid for the service during the three months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Changes To These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and may provide additional notice through the app, website, email, or billing portal. Continued use of the service after changes become effective means you accept the updated terms.
